EGGER supports Natural Ability
A Remarkable Partnership: EGGER and Natural Ability
In 2022, Natural Ability had the privilege of being chosen as EGGER’s Charity of the Year for a two-year partnership, following a heartfelt recommendation from one of EGGER’s employees. This partnership brought a generous annual corporate donation of £10,000, marking the beginning of a truly rewarding and impactful relationship.
The timing couldn’t have been better. Natural Ability was in the process of acquiring West Orchard House, a new premises to develop a center-based day service for adults with learning disabilities. EGGER’s Charity Committee saw the potential of this “blank canvas” and quickly recognized how their donation could play a transformative role in bringing the space to life.
Turning Vision into Reality
EGGER’s passion extended beyond financial support. The committee took an active role in improving the center, contributing materials and expertise to enhance the facility. They supplied high-quality laminate flooring to replace the worn carpets throughout the building and partnered with their customer, Howdens, to provide a fully equipped kitchen—donated at no cost to Natural Ability.
During open days and summer events, EGGER also lent their event deckchairs, ensuring visitors could comfortably enjoy the grounds. Their contributions were practical, thoughtful, and always aligned with our mission to create a welcoming, inclusive space.
A Deeper Connection: Supporting Services
EGGER’s support wasn’t limited to the center itself—they actively sought ways to engage with the people Natural Ability supports. This led to a meaningful collaboration with our Handy Person Service. EGGER became one of our most valued customers, giving our Handy Person team the opportunity to maintain their grounds, including gardens, benches, and pathways, as well as assisting with event preparations.
This partnership offered not just work opportunities but enriching experiences. Our Handy Person team received a behind-the-scenes tour of the EGGER plant, where they enjoyed learning about its operations and production processes—a highlight they still fondly recall!
Fundraising and Community Impact
EGGER’s staff went above and beyond through fundraising initiatives. Their efforts supported numerous projects, including the development of a sensory equipment library and the purchase of a defibrillator, which not only benefits Natural Ability attendees but also the wider community.
A Legacy of Collaboration
As the two-year partnership concludes, the relationship between EGGER and Natural Ability remains strong. EGGER has expressed their commitment to helping where they can in the future. Meanwhile, our Handy Person team still counts EGGER among their favorite customers, celebrating a partnership that has gone far beyond donations to become a source of shared pride and purpose.
