ISL - A Day in the life of...
What better way to tell you about ISL then to let the people we support and members of our ISL team do it for us. Meet Stephen, Adel, Blessing and Nicola

Stephen, Supported by Natural Ability
What is your favourite part of being supported by Natural Ability?
Doing things I couldn't do on my own.
Going to new places and trying new things.

What does a day in the life of you look like?
I have a full time table now, I am busy all the time and plan nice things and trips away for my time off. I have my own house with my cat.

What is your favourite memory of being supported by Natural Ability?
Indoor Sky Diving in Manchester.

Blessing, Support Worker
What is your favourite part of your job?
My favourite part of the job is definitely the moments when I see the people we support achieve something new or gain more independence. It’s so rewarding to know that I’m making a real difference in their lives.
What does a day in the life of a Relief Support Worker look like for you?
A typical day for me starts with checking in with the individuals I support to see how they’re doing and what their plans are for the day. I assist with daily tasks, and ensure they feel safe and confident whether they’re at home or out in the community. Every day is different, but it’s always focused on promoting their wellbeing and inclusion.
What is your favourite memory of working for Natural Ability?
One of my favourite memories is from the Christmas event we organised. Everyone, including the people we support, got involved in games and activities. There was so much joy and laughter, and it was wonderful to see everyone having such a great time together. It really highlighted the impact of our work.

Nicola, ISL Manager
What is your favourite part of your job?
The favourite part of my job is that we pull together as a team, no matter how difficult the circumstances, to get the best outcome for the individuals we are supporting. Seeing someone we support develop beyond imagination and achieve things no matter how small, that are huge milestones for them.

What does a day in the life of a ISL Manager look like?
Every day is different for us, sometimes we are supporting individuals frontline, sometimes we are supporting and training the support team, other days we can be having meetings with specialist nurses and social workers and implementing changes to peoples care plans.
