DAY FARMING
'I really appreciate that my son can be outdoors twice a week enjoying activities with dedicated and inspiring staff and other adults with learning disabilities.'
About DAY FARMING
Natural Ability's Day Farming service provides opportunities for people to work outdoors, learn new skills, gain qualifications and play a valuable role in the community. Activities can include land based skills, horticulture, environmental work and animal care.

During horticulture and farming days the group are hosted by members of the community on private farms and gardens. The service also takes responsibility for Sinderhope Community Garden and the gardens at West Orchard House, in which Day Farmers design, develop and maintain the gardens.
Our Walking Group explores the flora and fauna of the countryside and coast of the North East. During inclement weather and activities requiring indoor space, the service operates from the dedicated Nature and Environmental Oak Room space within Natural Ability’s West Orchard House.
Day Farming currently runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 3 PM and operates all year.
