Due to expansion and new opportunities Natural Ability require additional staff to join our Independent Supported Living in Hexham, Northumberland

We are looking for committed and enthusiastic individuals who can support our clients to live independent and safe lives. You will be energetic and passionate about supporting and empowering people with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. You will support our clients with everyday needs as well as empowering them to engage fully in the community and activities that interest them.

Patience, kindness and strong interpersonal skills will be essential. Previous experience, professionalism and commitment to providing the highest standard of care and support are crucial. We also value flexibility, creativity and the ability to have fun and get involved, as a key element of the role is to support our clients in their personal hobbies, to access the community and maintain and develop social circles.

SUPPORT WORKER 

Average 32 hours per week plus sleep-ins

£9.25 per hour Annual Salary circa £20,000 - £23,000 per annum (inc. day hours and sleep-ins)

Based in Hexham, Northumberland

3 week rotating shift pattern including some evenings and weekends

Rated "Good" with "Outstanding for "Responsive" by CQC

Closing Date: 3 May 2021 12 noon

We are currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic support worker to provide person-centred care and support for our client with learning disabilities living in his own home in Hexham, Northumberland.

We are looking for a support worker who has an interest in sport and enjoys watching sporting events, who will be proactive in engaging the client in activities and visiting new places.  We are looking for someone with a sense of humour who doesn't mind a practical joke and isn't easily offended.

The successful candidate must be able to work well in a supportive team to provide consistent working approaches, however they will

also be comfortable lone working. 

2-3 years previous experience in a similar role is essential including medication administration experience.  Experience of working with epilepsy would be advantageous.

We also value professionalism, commitment to providing the highest standard of care and support, compassion, flexibility, creativity and the ability to have fun and get involved.

A UK driving licence is essential to drive the clients vehicle so you can transport him to activities and events.

We are currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic support worker to provide person-centred care and support for our client with learning disabilities living in his own home in Hexham, Northumberland.

We are looking for an adventurous support worker for a gentleman who enjoys being very active and is eager to explore new places and try new things. We are looking for someone who loves being outdoors, who can support our clients love of footballl and is able to support with weekends away and holidays.   The successful candidate must be able to work well in a supportive team, but is equally able to work alone and is happy to work in a house with cats.

1 year previous experience in a similar role is essential.  

We also value professionalism, commitment to providing the highest standard of care and support, compassion, flexibility, creativity and the ability to have fun and get involved.

A UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is advantageous so you can transport our client to activities and event but this is not essential.

Volunteer Trustee (unpaid role)

We are seeking dynamic trustees who have the skills to help Natural Ability to grow its services for children and adults with learning difficulties in the North East. We are looking for individuals to join our Board who are passionate about offering choices, opportunities and enabling people with learning difficulties to live safe and independent lives across the region.

The main priorities of our trustees are to support the work of Natural Ability through strong strategic vision and leadership, oversee risk and compliance requirements, assist to raise the profile of the organisation and to maximise the organisation’s impact on the people it supports.

We are looking for individuals that have a strong interest in promoting opportunities and choice for people with learning difficulties and who will be committed to the ethos and values of the organisation. We are actively seeking candidates that have experience of finance and marketing and will value candidates that have previous experience in governance.

Candidates will be required to attend monthly Board meetings and may be required to support at other times in relation to specific events or marketing opportunities.

The post of Trustee is unpaid, however, all reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

Natural Ability began as the brainchild of one determined parent and her friend who was acutely aware of the gap in provision for her own son.  From there we have grown to provide support via independent supported living services, day services and provide an alternative education provision.  We provide bespoke support unique to the individual and believe that everyone regardless of ability has the right to make choices about how they live their lives.
